When classroom teachers must be out of their classrooms, Worcester County Public Schools uses highly skilled substitutes, making the flow of instruction as seamless as possible. Typically, the school system selects substitutes from an approved pool of 380. During the economic downturn, however, the pool has grown to over 430 substitutes. As a result, the school system is only accepting applications from substitutes who:
* are a retired teacher;
* hold a teaching certificate; or
* have graduated from college with a teaching degree.
If you meet one of these requirements and wish to apply, please contact Human Resources at 410-632-5075 to set an appointment for the application process. Substitute applications are not available on-line.
