Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC)
The purpose of the Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC) is to advise the Worcester County Public School System on the needs of students with disabilities within the school system. Specific functions of the SECAC may include:
Membership of the SECAC consists of a parent representative from each school within Worcester County Public Schools. The representatives are a parent or guardian of a child who receives Special Education services. Nominations are submitted from the school principal to the Superintendent of Schools.
The Superintendent of Schools or designee, and the Supervisor of Special Education or designee are ex-officio members of SECAC. The Partners for Success Coordinator shall be a standing member of the SECAC. Additional parent representatives may be appointed to the committee at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools.
